It looks like the weather is going to hold for the weekend, so why not come and spend Sunday & Monday in sunny Kenmare! We have a few rooms left for the Sunday night at €139 for the room, B&B. There’s always plenty to see and do in Kenmare – the bars are buzzing with people and live music and there’s loads of restaurants to choose from for meals out. Kenmare’s own little theatre – the Carnegie Arts Centre – is running a play over the weekend. ‘An Inspector Calls’ by J B Priestly, is an intriguing play considered to be one of the classics of mid-20th Century English theatre. Tickets are available for just €12. Check the hotel’s website for accommodation availability – www.kenmarebayhotel.com

Congratulations to our 2 couples – Louise & Niall and Laura & Gideon. Louise & Niall were a little unlucky with the weather on Friday, but it didn’t dampen their spirits nor those of their 300 guests who enjoyed a fantastic day. For Laura & Gideon, it was definitely second time lucky! They had to postpone their wedding from 23rd April, thanks to the Ash Cloud. It poured with rain on 23rd April. They got married on Saturday, 19th June in the most beautiful sunshine and they and all their guests had a brilliant weekend in Kenmare. www.kenmarebayhotel.com/weddings
Great News! The Kenmare Bay Hotel & Resort Holiday Homes and Lodges have achieved a Green Tourism Bronze Award. We’re pleased to be hosting a fashion show this Friday, 4th June, in aid of Bee for Battens. Rebecca from Bijou is organising it and the evening will kick off with a wine and canapes reception, followed by a fashion show featuring some of Bijou’s fabulous clothes, as well as outfits from O’Sullivan Ford and Simplicity. There’s a DJ to follow and a raffle on the night with some great prizes, including a 2 night stay at our sister hotel – The Killarney Riverside. Tickets just €20, payable on the door. Come and enjoy a fantastic evening and support this most deserving charity.
Local couple, Jacintha and Brian from Bonane, enjoyed a beautiful wedding day with many friends and family at the weekend. Check out our Facebook page for a couple of lovely photos of the happy couple.
Best wishes to Mary Fitzgerald, who recently retired as Matron at Kenmare Hospital. A retirement party was held at the hotel for Mary last Friday, attended by 90 people who all enjoyed a sit down 3 course dinner, followed by speeches and entertainment. We wish Mary all the best in her retirement. Check out the photos on our Facebook page!
Fantastic news that Saoirse has been invited to New York for medical trials. She will be in our thoughts and prayers of course.
